The Summer Company Program has assisted 11 local students in starting their summer businesses in Perth County.
The Stratford Perth Centre for Business announced this launch in a press release on June 26. The new ventures can be found in Stratford, St. Marys, and other communities across Perth County.
The of Ontario and the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade back the Summer Company program.
It offers participants “hands-on business training, expert mentorship, and a $3,000 micro-grant. To promote sustainable business practices, students receive half of the grant upfront to manage initial start-up expenses, with the remaining amount given upon successful completion of the program,” as stated in the press release.
New funding support from Perth County, the Perth Community Futures Development Corporation, invest Stratford, and the Town of St. Marys has enabled the Stratford Perth Centre for Business to extend the program to three more students this summer.
