Lanark County OPP have filed charges after looking into a domestic violence case in the Perth area.
Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police started investigating a report on Friday, February 6, 2026, regarding an event that allegedly took place in January.
Authorities say a 37-year-old man from Perth is now facing three charges: criminal harassment, break and enter, and forcible confinement.
The suspect has been held in custody and is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a future date.
Police have chosen not to release the name of the accused to protect the victim’s identity.
The OPP points out that incidents of domestic violence often go unreported and can impact individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Authorities encourage anyone experiencing abuse or feeling unsafe to seek help and support.
In an emergency, residents should call 911.
