Police in the Windsor-Essex area are getting ready for a gathering of motorcycle fans this week.
Windsor police and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have announced that they will increase patrols from Thursday through Sunday due to an expected turnout of around 750 people associated with the Hells Angels and other motorcycle clubs from Ontario and Canada.
“The community can expect an increased and visible police presence during this time as officers monitor activities and respond to public safety concerns,” read a release from Windsor police.
Authorities say they have no information about potential problems, but officers will be focused on reducing disruption and keeping everyone safe.
“Motorists may experience temporary traffic delays or increased congestion in some areas. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use caution, and follow posted signage and directions from officers,” read the release.
If you see any suspicious activity, please call Windsor police at (519) 258-6111, or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. For emergencies, call 911.
