Environment Canada has issued a yellow watch for severe thunderstorms today in Ottawa.
They say conditions point to the development of severe storms that could produce strong wind gusts and toonie-sized hail.
Residents of Ottawa North – Kanata – Orléans can expect these conditions to begin this afternoon and continue into the evening, with the possibility of utility outages. Injury as well as damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is also possible.
Emergency Management Ontario recommends anyone in the area take cover immediately should these dangerous weather conditions approach.
They urge residents to continue monitoring alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
