A pilot suffered minor injuries after their aircraft crashed southwest of Ottawa on Sunday evening, say officials from Ontario Provincial Police.

The OPP’s Lanark County detachment officers were dispatched to the scene north of the Smiths Falls-Montague Airport just before 9 p. m.

The OPP stated that only the pilot was aboard the small private plane at the time of the incident.

Authorities have yet to reveal details about the type of aircraft involved, its flight route, or what caused it to crash.
