The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) report that a significant coordinated operation in Cornwall and Montreal last month led to the seizure of illegal drugs valued at $4.1 million, resulting in 115 charges against 13 individuals.
The operations recovered 20 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, 14 kilograms of suspected cocaine, and 80,000 counterfeit prescription tablets. The amount of fentanyl was noted as “approximately 200,000 potentially lethal street-level doses,” as stated in the release.
The raids focused on four independent criminal networks: one involved with fentanyl trafficking, two dealing with cocaine trafficking, and one involved with counterfeit prescription medications alongside cocaine trafficking.
This interprovincial effort engaged multiple law enforcement agencies from both Ontario and Quebec.
