Weapons Taken in Northern B. C. Linked to Ontario Murder Case
8:22 am Thursday, June 11, 2026 The Terrace region remains significant in the ongoing investigation into the murder of a man in Ontario on April 12, 2026. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initially pinpointed the Terrace area as a location where one of the two suspects wanted for the second degree murder of Christo Allison Richards could be located. According to a press release from June 10, OPP announced that officers from both the OPP and RCMP have confiscated two firearms during a search of a rural property in Terrace. “Lyna Du, 32 years old from Ottawa, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder, contrary to section 240 of the Criminal Code (CC). The accused is currently in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Friday June 12, 2026,” stated the release. This marks the second arrest related to Richards’ death. In May, another individual was charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Joseph Madore, 34, and Brayton Kennedy, 28, both from Ottawa, are still at large. They face charges of second degree murder stemming from early investigations. Madore has been believed by investigators since early on to possibly be hiding out in B. C., which is why they listed Terrace as one possible location due to his known connections there. Other areas mentioned include Richmond, Abbotsford and Chilliwack. “Investigators think that Madore might be camping somewhere rural in British Columbia. Kennedy’s location is unknown. If you see either man, do not approach them. Anyone with information about their whereabouts should contact police right away,” said the OPP release. Description for Madore includes six-foot-two tall and weighing about 189 pounds with a medium build; he has hazel eyes, black hair and tattoos. Kennedy is described as five-foot-11 tall and around 260 pounds; he has brown hair, blue eyes and a tattoo above his left eyebrow on his forehead. The body of Richards was found with life-threatening injuries on April 12, 2026 after authorities responded to an incident at Last Duel Park in Perth which is about an hour south of Ottawa. He later passed away at a hospital. If you have any information regarding this case or those involved please reach out to Lanark County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
