OSHAWA – Authorities have announced the arrest of a second individual in connection with the deadly stabbing of a 44-year-old man in Oshawa, Ont.
Durham regional police reported that officers responded to a call near Park Road South and John Street during the early morning hours of Dec. 23 and discovered the victim, who later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
On that same day, investigators apprehended a 33-year-old man and charged him with second-degree murder while they continued their search for another suspect.
Police have now confirmed that this additional suspect, also 44 years old, was taken into custody in Peterborough, Ont., on Boxing Day related to a different homicide case.
The Durham police took charge of this suspect on Monday and subsequently charged him with second-degree murder regarding the incident in Oshawa.
He is currently being held pending a bail hearing.
