The Ontario Works Office located in Oshawa’s Midtown Mall is closed for a bit due to some watermain repairs happening nearby, just four months after the office had to shut down for a week because of flooding.

This closure isn’t expected to be long, although no specific date has been given for when it will reopen.

The Ontario Works Office at Midtown Mall originally closed on June 4 because of watermain work in the vicinity. The agency has advised that services and support can still be accessed at the Region of Durham Headquarters on Rossland Road in Whitby.

Clients can reach out by calling 311 for more details.

A previous closure back in February lasted a week due to flooding and the cleanup efforts, with the office reopening to the public on Feb. 11.

During this time, clients visited the Community Resource Centre on the second floor of the mall for limited support, as most services were relocated to the regional headquarters.
