Ryan Daniel Johnston, 51, of Fruitland, Idaho, passed away on April 19, 2026.
He was born on December 5, 1974, to Dan and Leanne Johnston in Ontario, Oregon. Ryan grew up in Ontario until he completed his studies at Treasure Valley Community College. He later graduated from Oregon State University and established a successful career in orthopedic medical device sales. Colleagues remember him as a strong competitor and a great person to be around, earning several awards throughout his professional journey.
Ryan was a devoted father who loved his children dearly. His greatest joy came from being a dad to Madeline and Jacob. They were true blessings in his life, and he took immense pride in supporting them and loving them without conditions. He was a son who brought pride to his parents, a brother who inspired respect, an uncle who filled every room with laughter, and a friend who was trusted and valued.
From a young age, Ryan had a passion for sports and showcased his talent by winning the Kelly Ogawa Award for Athlete of the Year at Ontario High School. In his spare time, Ryan loved spending time outdoors, especially enjoying trips to Mc Call, Idaho, and the coast of Oregon.
Ryan’s life serves as a reminder of the importance of faith, kindness, and connection with others. May we find solace knowing he is at peace with Jesus; may his memory motivate us to care for one another with love and grace. He will be missed greatly and remembered fondly.
He is survived by his children Madeline and Jacob; his parents Dan and Leanne Johnston of Fruitland; his brother Kyle Johnston and wife Susiana; sister Mandy Sali; nieces and nephews Jaylen, Logan, Cole, Jesley, Rhode, Townes; Madeline and Jacob’s mother Brooke Johnston; along with many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents Albin and Delores Johnston as well as Sam and Iva Hornbeck; also by his baby sister Tammy Jo Johnston.
Two celebrations of life are planned to honor Ryan so family members from both communities can come together to share memories about him while celebrating the impact he had on so many lives. The first service will be held on Saturday May 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM MDT at the Nazarene Church located at 1131 Alameda Drive Ontario Oregon. A second celebration will take place on Saturday June 20th 2026 at 10:00 AM PDT at The Crossing Church found at 7950 West Windmill Lane Las Vegas Nevada.
