We are saddened to share that Anna Maria Mucciaccio passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on February 14, 1933, in Bonefro, Campobasso, Italy, to Luigi and Antonietta Ruccolo.

Anna Maria spent over fifty years married to her late husband, Nicola, who passed away in 2008.

She dedicated many years of her life working at the University of Windsor until she retired.

Family, friendship, and faith were central to Anna Maria’s life. Her children Tina Fantetti (Russ) and John Mucciaccio (Karen), along with her grandchildren Nick, Anthony, Meagan, Adam-and her cherished great-grandchild Marissa-were the greatest joys of her life. They will always remember the warmth of Nonna’s embrace.

Anna Maria is now reunited with her late siblings Nunzio Antonio Ruccolo (Virginia), Nicolina Mucciaccio (late Micheal), Itala Mucciaccio (late Domenico), and John Ruccolo (Carolina). She was a beloved sister to Rita Van Buren (Augustus) and a special aunt to Maria Topalovic and many nieces and nephews.

She is also predeceased by her sister-in-law Rufina Colombo (late Michele Antonio), brother-in-law Antonio Mucciaccio (late Rufina), and sister-in-law Maria Mucciaccio (late Salvatore).

A woman who found joy in simple things, Anna Maria loved gardening and cooking. She often brought family together for delicious meals. Her generous heart touched everyone lucky enough to know her.

Her family wants to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful neighbors who looked after Anna Maria for many years with their companionship and care.

Anna Maria leaves behind a legacy filled with love and kindness. Though she will be missed dearly, those who knew her will always carry the light she brought into their lives. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family forevermore.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Location (11677 Tecumseh Rd. East, Windsor, ON) on May 26, 2026 from 3 pm to 5 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm with prayers at 4 pm. A brief visitation is scheduled for May 27, 2026 from 9 am until 9:40 am before we proceed to Our Lady of the Atonement Parish (2940 Forest Glade Dr., Windsor, ON) for Mass at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (1805 ON-3 Oldcastle , ON).

In memory of Anna Maria, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Foundation-causes that were important to her.
