Mr. Noel Richard, aged 82, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Hogarth Riverview Manor on July 8, 2026. He was born on December 25, 1943 in Hearst, ON, to Franҫios and Alexina Richard. Noel left Hearst when he was young and went on to study at Radio College in Toronto. He returned to Thunder Bay and taught himself the skills needed to become a first-class engineer for Great Lakes Paper Mill. He took pride in retiring early. On November 2, 1968, he married Sharon, and together they raised three sons: Marcel, Dean, and Daren. Noel loved golfing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, riding ATVs, watercolor painting, playing pool in a league as well as hunting, fishing, and camping with his son Dean. He is survived by his wife Sharon; children Marcel; Dean; Daren (Denise); grandchildren Jordan; Jessica; Dillon; Alessia; great-grandchildren Maybe; Aliya; sister Marille; and their cat Misty. Many other relatives and friends also remember him fondly. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings Kam; Fernanise; Clement; John Paul; Frances; Claude. The family would like to thank the staff of 6S at Hogarth Riverview Manor for their wonderful care of Noel. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Legion Manor on the main floor (225 Ross St.) from 12:00 – 3:00 pm.
