We are heartbroken to share that Marion Phyllis Mc Nee (née Migas) passed away on April 19, 2026, at the Portage District General Hospital, at the age of 84 years.
Marion will be fondly remembered by her children Colleen & Chris Perry, Lee & Carol Mc Nee, Charlene & Stewart Richard; grandchildren Kaylee, Tyler, Jayson, Terri & James, Kenneth; great-granddaughter Clara; sisters Marge Ewanyshyn and Olga Stevenson; brother Pat & Brenda Migas; in-laws Norman Mc Nee, John & Darlene Mc Nee, George Mc Nee, Darlene Mc Nee; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and numerous dear friends who felt like family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Arnie Mc Nee; her parents Pearl & Peter Migas; parents-in-law Elaine & Cecil Mc Nee; sister Patricia Groleau; in-laws Dorothy & Ed Vincent, Rhonda Mc Nee, Roy Stevenson, Bob Mc Nee, Tom Mc Nee, Denis Mc Nee; and great-granddaughter Marion Richard.
Born on September 1, 1941, Mom lived a life filled with love and kindness. She will be remembered for her warm heart and gentle nature. Growing up on the family farm in Oakburn, Manitoba shaped her caring spirit. Later she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Fighter Control Operator. While stationed in Clinton she met Arnie-her true love-and they married in 1961 without looking back.
Mom devoted herself to being a full-time homemaker and created a loving environment for her family. They moved around Canada before finding their home on an acreage in High Bluff where they enjoyed retirement together. Mom loved spending time outdoors and could often be seen tending to her garden. Harvest time was special for her as she would busy herself canning and pickling.
When not at home Mom and Dad enjoyed camping with the Yellowquill Good Sam Camping Club and spending winters in Arizona as snowbirds. Traveling brought her joy too-especially when it involved visiting family and friends.
Family meant everything to Mom. Once you became friends with her you were part of the family. Her greatest joy came from being a Baba. She lovingly shared her gardening skills along with canning and BINGO nights with all of her grandchildren.
Marion proudly belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion where you could find her at Branch #65 enjoying Friday meat draws or Monday bingos along with some occasional pub crawls.
A huge void has been left in our hearts but we take comfort knowing she’s dancing again with Dad.

A celebration of Marion’s life will take place on Thursday April 30th 2026 at Mc Kenzies Portage Funeral Chapel starting at 1:00 pm. The service will also be livestreamed-please register using the link below if you’d like to watch it online. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
