Margaret Lillian Duncan (nee Flude), at the age of ninety, passed away on March 15, 2026, surrounded by her family’s love at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie.

She was born on October 19, 1936, in Toronto, Ontario. Margaret’s life revolved around her family; she was a devoted wife to the late Russell Jack Duncan and a caring mother to seven children who relied on her strength.

Margaret leaves behind her children Dave Legros, Michelle Laube (Stan), Kathy Crowe (Keith), Sandy Dilworth (Matt Pfaff), Will Legros (Ingrid) and Trish Duncan-Girard (Bishop). She was predeceased by her son Gord Legros. She also had thirteen beloved grandchildren: Gord, Matt, Laura, Danielle, Stephanie, Allison, Jackie, Alex, Liam, Nate, Andie, Hannah and Owen. Her six great-grandchildren will miss her dearly and she eagerly awaited the arrival of three more in 2026.

A service to celebrate her life will take place at Basic Funerals-Jennett Memorial Centre located at 152 Bradford Street in Barrie on Monday March 23, 2026. Visitation starts at 1:00 pm followed by the service at 2:00 pm and a reception afterward.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Barrie Food Bank, Salvation Army or Sick Kids Foundation-charities that were very dear to Mom.

The family is grateful for all the loving care and support given to Mom. Her spirit will live on in everyone who knew her.
