Lauree Anne Bishop (née Hogarth) – from Brechin, Ontario – passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2026, just two days shy of her 85th birthday. In her final months, she was surrounded by her loving family, who embraced her with warmth and made the most of every moment spent together.

Lauree grew up in Weston, Ontario, where she met Rich, the love of her life. They were married for 63½ years. Together they created a home in Etobicoke, raised two sons, enjoyed close friendships, and shared a deep appreciation for music. Early on, she worked as a teacher with the Toronto District School Board but later thrived as a mother and homemaker – a role she held with great pride. Her home was nothing less than a showcase for cooking, cleaning, laundry, and ironing.

As their boys grew up and moved out, Lauree and Rich headed north to Bayshore Village to live their dream by the lake for 35 wonderful years. She was actively involved in the community garden committee for many years and set an amazing example through her own beautiful garden. Her expertise in plants and flowers was impressive; she took genuine pride in each blossom.

To escape the winter chill, Lauree took trips to Hawaii and later Florida where she enjoyed a break from the cold weather while eagerly anticipating March visits from her grandchildren. Whenever possible, she attended their games, performances, and graduations with unwavering support and enthusiasm.

Family always came first for Lauree; she was deeply loved by all who knew her well. She is survived by her husband Richard; her sons Steve & Wendy and Tim & Karen; her grandchildren Samuel (Fernanda), Emily (Matt), Lauren, and Bradley (Nicole); along with her great-granddaughter Iris. Lauree found immense joy watching her grandchildren grow into successful adults-always meeting their choices with grace and love. In her last months, little Iris brought endless laughter to Lauree’s life-moments that will forever be treasured by the family.

The values she lived by will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada in memory of Lauree. https://alzheimer. ca/en
