Glen Allison Angus, 92, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, in Gulfport, surrounded by love. He lived a full and remarkable life defined by resilience, vision, deep gratitude, and devotion to family.
Born April 19, 1933, in Dodsland, Saskatchewan, Canada, Glen was raised on the Canadian prairies. It was there that he developed the independence and work ethic that shaped his life. As a young man, he worked various jobs before proudly serving seven years in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After being discharged in 1957, he went into sales before discovering his true passion for real estate development.
Starting in 1962, Glen enjoyed a long and successful career turning ideas into reality. He had a knack for seeing potential where others couldn’t. In the late 1990s, his passion for development brought him to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There he continued shaping residential properties and communities for the remainder of his life. He often shared his guiding philosophy: “All you need is an opportunity, and there are opportunities everywhere.”
He also encouraged his family to stay positive, believe in themselves, support each other closely and always enjoy their time together.
An enthusiastic outdoorsman at heart, Glen loved hunting, fishing and skiing; he also played baseball and hockey when he was younger. During a severe prairie blizzard near Moose Jaw in December 1955, he walked miles through whiteout conditions to get help for his family – a story that’s part of family lore reflecting his bravery and determination.
Glen had a wonderful sense of humor and was known as a generous host. He connected effortlessly with people of all ages and brightened the lives of those around him with great conversations and stories from the past while inspiring hope for the future.
He was preceded in death by his parents Claude Allison Angus and Doris Victoria White; his sister June; and brother Gerald. He carried these losses with quiet strength.
Glen often expressed gratitude for having such a loving family. He is survived by his wife Mari; children Richard (Vicki), Donald (Laura), Lynne (Pete), Joseph (Charlotte); grandchildren Allison (Curt), Kristin (Lorin), John (Christina), Whitney (Andrew), Charity (Thomas), Austin (Linley), Gaelyn, Skyler, Avery , and Carter; great-grandchildren Wyatt Knorr (Kelsey), Taylor , Kenzie , Alex , Bree , Dawson , Max , Cole , Callie , Clara , Wyatt , Hunter , Huxley , Annika , Claire , Brexlyn , Mitchell; along with stepchildren Patrick Hagerty，Kelly Scannell，Mike Oman，Kelly Dagul，and Heidi Hemer-all whom he cared about deeply.
A private family service took place on December 19. In lieu of flowers，memorial donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School，Tunnels to Towers Foundation，Veterans of Foreign Wars，Ducks Unlimited or the Humane Society of South Mississippi.
Though he will be missed greatly, Glen leaves behind values of love, courage, optismism, and belief in possibilities carried forward by those closest to him as well as many lives he touched throughout his journey.
