Richard Walter Cleaver March 2, 1957 – June 28, 2026

Richard Walter Cleaver, age 69, from Barrie, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Simcoe Hospice on June 28, 2026.

He spent 47 amazing years of marriage with his wife, Lorraine. Together they created a life filled with faith, love, and family.

Richard was a dedicated father to his daughter, Tara, and his sons, Joshua (Charline) and Matthew (Madison). He took great pride in being a grandfather to Clara, Benjamin, and Thomas. His sister Mona (Larry), along with his extended family and many dear friends will miss him greatly.

Throughout his life, Richard showed unwavering faith and deep devotion to his family while having a lifelong love for music and service. In his career, he held leadership positions in technology at Empire Life, Bank of Montreal, and London Life.

Beyond his job achievements, Richard will be remembered for his love for Jesus Christ and his loyal commitment to church communities in both Canada and Florida. He used his musical talents to lead others in worship while encouraging fellow Christian musicians.

A devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, he was also a faithful friend and mentor to many. His life reflected the words that became central to him: “For to me, to live is Christ.” (Philippians 1:21)

Richard’s impact is one of faithfulness, kindness, wisdom, humility, and quiet strength. His enduring love for God and those around him serves as an inspiration for everyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 3:00 p. m. at Harvest Bible Chapel located at 7 George Street in Barrie Ontario. Pre-service music will start around 2:30.

Family and friends are warmly invited to come together in celebration of Richard’s life while giving thanks for all the lives he influenced.

If you wish to honor Richard’s memory instead of sending flowers please consider making donations to Harvest Bible Chapel at 7 George Street Barrie Ontario L4N 2G5. For our American family and friends donations can be made to New Day Christian Church located at 20212 Peachland Blvd., Port Charlotte Florida 33954.
