“The wealth of a man can be measured by the love of his children”

On Friday, December 17, our wonderful dad, Edward Francis Plante, passed away knowing we would take care of our mother Monica (Masse), his beloved wife for 69 years. Edward and Monica came from large and caring families and created that same loving atmosphere for us. His five sons, Edward (Tony Piscetelli), William (Janine), Regis (Maria), Gregory (Kathy 2007), Michael and six daughters Janet (Ken Ouellette), Nancy (Saul Nosanchuk), Rosemary (Harold Williams), Mary Lou (John Carruthers), Susan Novelletto and Andrea (Tony Kellam) loved him more than words can say. Edward took great joy in his 16 grandchildren Laura (Francis) Bird, Brendan (Terra) Burke, Martin Ouellette, Zachary Williams (Jennifer), Hudson, Audrey, Meredith and William Plante, Nicholas (Jasmine) Plante, Jessie (Nikola) Stojakovic , Sarah Mc Carthy (Chris), Kristina and Daniel Novelletto, Anna and Monica Plante and Samantha and Rachel Kellam as well as 5 great grandchildren, Lily, Wyatt, Emmett, Larissa and Owen. He is also survived by his youngest brother Robert (Theresa) and sisters-in-law Marion (Harold) Masse, Cecilia (Carl) Ford, Doreen (Russ) Theaker along with many nieces and nephews who also cared for Uncle Ed. Edward enjoyed hard work; he started in his father’s cement block business before delivering ice, milk and ice cream for Borden Dairies followed by cement for Sterling Construction. He finished his working life at Windsor Factory Supply (“the best job he ever had”). With a strong faith throughout his life, Edward joins his parents Leah and Edward along with his sister Marion and brothers Bernard, John, Nicholas, Homer and Warren in eternal peace. Our father’s character strength, devotion to our family and lifelong commitment to our mother will keep inspiring future generations. If you’d like to contribute something in memory of him, donations to Drouillard Place or the Monica Plante Fund (Windsor Essex Catholic DSB) would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Mon 7-9 pm and Tues 2-5 & 7-9 pm with parish prayers Tues at 3:30pm at Families First 1065 LAUZON East Windsor, 519-969-5841. On Wednesday family and friends are invited to meet at St Theresa Church ,1991 Norman Rd. after 10 am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am. Interment St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
