February 25, 1959 – July 26, 2026
We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of our dear father, grandfather, and brother, (D’Eyncourt) Colin Montgomery, who was 67 years old.
Colin was born on February 25, 1959 to Vada Viola (nee Whittaker) and Lloyd George Montgomery as the third of four boys. He went to Grandview Public School and Hammarskjold H. S. in Thunder Bay before attending Aldersgate Bible College in Moosejaw, SK. Over the years, he worked as a cook, school janitor, and heat pump installer. He had a friendly nature and was always ready to lend a hand. A dedicated member of the Free Methodist Church and a devoted follower of Jesus, D’Eyncourt also spent 30 years enthusiastically involved with the Society of Creative Anachronism where he formed many lasting friendships, received awards, and traveled extensively.
D’Eyncourt (Papa) will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Rachel, Alexander, Sarah, and Colin; his daughter Amanda; and his son-in-law Patrick.
He is survived by brothers Christopher (Jane), Curtis (Laura), and Cameron (Kim); along with nieces and nephews Jonathon (Amie), Robert (Bethany), James, Sarah (Ian), Alan and Malcolm (Laura).
D’Eyncourt (Colin) was preceded in death by his wife Christine (nee Claus); his parents Vada and Lloyd; sister-in-law Brenda; along with many aunts, uncles, and other family members.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, August 7 at 10:00 am at the O’Connor Free Methodist Church followed by burial at The O’Connor Free Methodist Cemetery located at 173 Earl Road in O’Connor. Flowers may be sent to the O’Connor Free Methodist Church or memorial donations can be made to the church which would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements have been handled by Westfort Chapel located at 420 West Gore Street in Thunder Bay.
