A case that started with a stolen wallet from a car in Oakville has resulted in several arrests and the recovery of numerous suspected stolen items, according to the Halton Regional Police Service.

Officers got a report in late March after someone had their wallet taken from their vehicle, and the victim’s credit cards were later used without permission. As the investigation unfolded, authorities identified Kathleen Rand and Daniel Gignac.

Rand was arrested on May 11th. During her arrest, police discovered multiple pieces of stolen identification in her possession.

Two days later, investigators carried out a Criminal Code search warrant at an Oakville home where they apprehended six people, including Gignac. Police recovered methamphetamine along with a significant amount of suspected stolen goods from the residence.

Among the items seized were six e-bikes, gasoline generators, power tools, gift cards, and other property believed to be linked to criminal activities.

All those accused were held for bail hearings in Milton.
