Recently, two 15-year-olds were taken into custody in Oshawa after a concerning situation involving weapons. On Saturday, police responded to reports of an unfamiliar disturbance near Glen Street and Malaga Road, not far from Bloor Street West and Park Road South. The teens are said to have chased two individuals while holding knives. Although the suspects escaped before the police arrived, Durham Regional Police used drones to find and apprehend them.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, but the young individuals are facing multiple charges such as obstructing a peace officer and carrying a weapon that poses danger to the public. One of the teens is also charged with failing to comply with a sentence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, while the other faces charges for not adhering to an undertaking. Both will be held for bail hearings, and their identities are protected under the Act.
