(Photo Courtesy of OPP) An 83-year-old woman has passed away following a crash between two cars on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) close to Trafalgar Road in Oakville. On Friday around 10:10 p. m., officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to reports of a sedan heading towards Toronto in the Fort Erie-bound lanes of the QEW. Not long after, police received word that the vehicle had crashed into another sedan. Investigators mentioned that both drivers were initially taken to hospital with injuries thought to be minor. However, the injuries suffered by the driver going the wrong way, an 83-year-old woman from Hanover, Ont., were later found to be life-threatening. She died as a result of her injuries.
