The holiday season is almost here, and since indulging in baked treats is really what it’s all about, why not join in on the festive fun at a delightful butter tart festival in Toronto?

Gotta Luv Butter Tarts, the folks behind the popular Oakville Butter Tart Festival, are back this December to satisfy the cravings of butter tart lovers all over the GTA with a special holiday edition.

This time around, instead of just being in Oakville, the festival will be held in Etobicoke.

Taking cues from major spring and summer butter tart events like Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival in Midland and the Caledon Butter Tart Festival

Sure, some might say that one butter tart festival per province is plenty, but I’d argue that since this iconic dessert was born in Ontario, there’s definitely room for more.

Gotta Luv Butter Tart’s Holiday Fest & Butter Tart Market will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion located at 3850 Lake Shore Blvd. W. this December, filling the hall with a handpicked selection of some of Ontario’s best butter tart creators.

You could call them butter tart artisans.

Expect to see familiar names like Omi’s Sweets n Treats, Grandma’s Beach Treats and The Ten of Tarts among over 50 vendors participating in the festival. There will also be several options for those who need gluten-free treats.

Besides tarts, other local businesses and makers will showcase their goods at the event-think strudels, sausages, decorations and various knick-knacks galore.

The Holiday Fest and Butter Tart Market runs from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, and guess what? Admission is free!
