Halton police are on the lookout for around eight individuals believed to have stolen eight luxury cars valued at roughly $2 million from a dealership in Oakville.
According to officers, the incident occurred at about 3:30 a. m. Sunday at Lockwood Leasing on South Service Road, close to Third Line and the QEW.
“We didn’t realize until about 6:30 a. m. when our neighbour notified us that our garage door was open,” says Russell Osborne, a sales associate at the dealership.
The suspects – who were all dressed in dark clothes and wearing masks – reportedly broke in through the front window and grabbed keys from a lockbox.
No injuries were reported since the dealership was vacant during the theft.
The thieves made off with a Ferrari, two Porsches, two BMWs, and three Mercedes.
Osborne fears that the culprits might return to steal more vehicles because they already possess the keys from the lockbox.
Police have managed to recover the Ferrari, one BMW, and one Mercedes within the GTA.
Const. Jeff Dillon with Halton police mentions that since three of the cars were discovered east of Oakville, he suspects that the remaining vehicles may have gone in that direction as well.
No arrests have been made so far.
The showroom at the dealership remains empty but is open on Monday.
