A four-year-old child has passed away in the hospital following a possible fall from an apartment balcony in Mississauga, according to Peel police.
Officers were called around 4:30 p. m. on Monday for a medical assist after a child was discovered on the ground at an apartment close to City Centre Drive and Duke of York Boulevard, stated Const. Amanda Steenson with Peel police in an emailed statement on Wednesday.
Police have received information suggesting that the child may have fallen from a balcony, she noted.
Peel paramedics indicated that the child was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition after falling from an unknown height. The child later succumbed to injuries at the hospital, said Steenson.
She mentioned that investigators are still looking into this “active and sensitive” case.
