York Regional Police are reaching out to the community for assistance as they investigate a serious accident that occurred in Markham on Friday.

The police were called to the scene of a collision involving a Mercedes and a Subaru at Major Mackenzie Drive and Stonebridge Drive near Mc Cowan Road around 4:50 p. m.

According to investigators, one of the vehicles crossed the center median and collided head-on with the other.

The driver of the Subaru was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. There were also two children in that vehicle; one sustained life-threatening injuries, while the other had minor injuries.

The driver of the Mercedes was hospitalized as well but is in serious yet non-life-threatening condition.

As the investigation progresses, police are hoping to connect with witnesses who haven’t come forward yet, as well as anyone who may have dashcam footage from around the time of the crash.

You can upload any video evidence to YRP’s online portal here.
