A motorcycle crash in Scarborough on Monday afternoon resulted in one death and another person injured.
The incident took place in the Malvern area, close to Markham Road and Nugget Avenue, just north of Sheppard Avenue East.
According to Toronto police, they received reports of a multi-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle shortly before 2 p. m.
Police reported that a 42-year-old man was riding a black Honda motorcycle westbound when a 53-year-old woman driving a green Ford Fusion turned left into a private driveway and collided with the motorcycle.
“The Ford Fusion then struck a third vehicle, a black Dodge Hornet being driven by a 25-year-old male, that was stationary in the driveway waiting to exit onto Nugget Avenue,” police stated in a news release Tuesday.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in critical condition but unfortunately passed away from his injuries.
The driver of the Ford Fusion also went to the hospital with minor injuries, while the driver of the Dodge Hornet was uninjured, according to police.
“The circumstances surrounding the collision will be part of the ongoing investigation,” an officer mentioned in an email update to Toronto.
