Six teenagers from London are facing multiple charges after a series of break-ins at homes in the southwest part of the city early Sunday, according to police.

The youngest among them is only 13 years old.

Authorities say they got several calls between midnight and 4:30 a. m. from residents reporting people kicking in doors and causing property damage.

In one case, a homeowner was awakened by the sound of his door being damaged around 1:15 a. m. He then followed a white vehicle that he saw the suspects get into.

The man approached the vehicle shortly after, and police allege that the suspects showed what turned out to be an airsoft gun resembling a rifle and a BB gun styled like a handgun, firing at him and his car. Thankfully, he wasn’t hurt.

Description of the suspects came from surveillance camera footage, leading police to locate the suspect vehicle around 5 a. m. near St. Lawrence Boulevard and Hillsborough Road, close to another attempted break-in.

Three suspects fled but were later apprehended while three others were taken into custody without incident, according to police. The airsoft gun and BB gun were found inside their vehicle.

The six boys aged 13 to 17 face five counts each of breaking and entering with intent as well as attempted breaking and entering. Their identities cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

They also face one count each for disguise with intent to commit an indictable offense, pointing a firearm, discharging an air gun with intent to endanger life, and using an imitation firearm during an indictable offense.

Four have been released with an April 13 court date, while two remain in custody awaiting court on Wednesday, said police officials.

A spokesperson for law enforcement mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing.
