The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have taken a 32-year-old man from Hamilton into custody in connection with a deadly hit and run that occurred on the 401 earlier this month.

On Dec. 3 just after 7 a. m., a 42-year-old tow truck operator from Kitchener was responding to an emergency call west of Oxford Road 3 when he was hit and killed by a commercial vehicle.

The driver did not stay at the scene.

This incident was one of several collisions that took place in early December along that section of the highway, two of which were fatal.

As reported by the OPP, Sandeep Singh, age 32, has been arrested and faces charges for dangerous driving causing death and failure to stop after an accident resulting in death.

He is set to appear at the Woodstock Courthouse on Jan. 27, 2026.
