Six individuals are now facing charges after York Regional Police, along with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), reported the seizure of cocaine valued at around $20 million, alongside $2.5 million in cash. This was all part of a drug investigation known as Project Golden Frog.

The investigation kicked off in May 2026 when border agents intercepted a shipment from Panama that was suspected to contain a significant amount of cocaine.

The CBSA then alerted York Regional Police, who connected the shipment to a suspect linked to the Kitchener area.

On June 11, 2026, police arrested three suspects and executed search warrants at a residence and storage unit in Kitchener, resulting in the discovery of $2.5 million in cash.

Following that, on June 17, 2026, officers carried out more search warrants at another home, a business, and another storage locker in Kitchener.

This led to the arrest of two more suspects. Investigators claim they found additional quantities of what is believed to be cocaine as well as more cash.

The final suspect was arrested on June 23, 2026.

Overall, authorities report seizing about 260 kilograms of cocaine valued at roughly $20 million.

Investigators suggest that this group intended to distribute the cocaine across York Region and the Greater Toronto Area.

Those charged include Germaine Dunn, 48; Jeremiah Dunn, 22; Dean Daly, 48; Patrick Nkoranyi Kizito, 36; Abdifatah Abdirahman Omar, 33; and Natasha Thomas, 47-all from Kitchener-and they face various charges. (Full list here)

No charges have been proven in court yet.

“Project Golden Frog is an excellent example of the strong partnership between York Regional Police and the Canada Border Services Agency,” said YRP Deputy Chief Ryan Hogan.

“Through this collaborative investigation, a significant quantity of illegal drugs was prevented from reaching our streets. This seizure represents an important step in keeping our communities safe.”
