KINGSTON – Landline, which runs Air Canada’s coach bus service between Norman Rogers Airport and Pearson International Airport in Toronto, has expanded its offerings almost a year after launching.

The bus service started back in late September and provides Air Canada passengers transportation without any extra fees between both airports.
The company currently operates four trips daily each way and has recently added service for regional airports located in St. Catharines, Sarnia and Muskoka. Before launching services for Kingston, they only connected Toronto with Hamilton and Kitchener-Waterloo.
“Our goal is to make travel easier, more affordable and more seamless for customers. That’s the goal of this program with Air Canada Landline service,” said Nick Johnson, vice-president of the company who’s been leading its growth across Ontario.
“We’re now connecting six communities across Ontario into Pearson airport at times that align well with Air Canada flights,” Johnson mentioned. “We aim for six to ten trips daily so people have plenty of options available. Of course we need to ensure we grow responsibly without overstretching ourselves but we’ve received excellent feedback from both customers and locals.”

The Landline service also makes it possible for passengers flying out of Kingston to complete pre-flight procedures right there instead of having to drive into Toronto where parking can be a hassle. Plus Air Canada helps accommodate any delays due to traffic or weather conditions between both airports.
“I think that’s one of the big values is we’re making it more seamless because you can actually check in , print your boarding pass , and check your bag at Kingston airport,” he said. “You’re saving money. You’re not paying for parking. You’re not paying for gas or wear-and-tear on your vehicle. You’re also getting time back. You can take three hours for rest , emails , or reading.”
The use of this Landline bus service also gives Air Canada insight into air travel demand coming out of Kingston.
Air Canada keeps gathering information about air travel needs through this Landline service.
“The more passengers use this service , the better data we get about actual travel volume ,” Johnson explained. “Kingston once had regular air services. Nowadays when people choose driving routes like Ottawa , Montreal , or Pearson airport , it’s hard for airlines like Air Canada gather demand statistics.”
“We constantly hear that folks want their flights back. Well , showing real demand using this system is key if we’re going to see those flights return based off Kingstons airport code.”
