HAMILTON, ON, July 23, 2026 /CNW/ — The 55th Annual JUNO Awards brought in an estimated $17.2 million in economic activity for Hamilton, marking the highest economic impact ever recorded for a host city of the JUNO Awards. Overall, the event generated approximately $23.1 million in total economic activity across Ontario.

The 2026 JUNO Awards attracted more than 7,200 visitors to Hamilton from March 26 to 29, highlighting the event’s substantial effect on the local economy.

“The JUNO Awards highlighted everything great about Hamilton,” said Mayor Andrea Horwath. “This event created a record $17.2 million in local economic activity-the highest impact we’ve ever seen for a JUNO host city. Thousands of visitors enjoyed our city’s music, culture and hospitality while local businesses saw an influx of new customers. This is something our entire community can take pride in.”

During JUNO Week, there were over 16,250 unique attendees and more than 28,000 participations in various JUNO-related events and activities like JUNOfest, the JUNO Kickoff Concert, the JUNO Comedy Show, Junior JUNOS, the JUNO Songwriters Circle and industry programming.

“Hamilton once again demonstrated that it’s an outstanding host for the 2026 JUNO Awards,” stated Allan Reid, President & CEO of CARAS/The JUNO Awards. “The purpose of the JUNOs is to celebrate amazing artists who help shape Canada’s cultural identity and to unite communities through music’s power. It’s encouraging to see that this celebration also brings significant economic benefits to Hamilton and Ontario-it reminds us that investing in Canadian music has effects that go far beyond just what happens on stage. We appreciate everyone involved-City of Hamilton officials, the Province of Ontario, partners, volunteers and fans-for making this year’s JUNO Week such a fantastic success.”

The event drew over 3,000 delegates from the music industry along with artists and media members whose spending on hotels, restaurants, transportations retail and entertainment contributed significantly to overall economic impacts.
