The cherry blossom season has officially begun in an Ontario city, but visitors need to hurry.

Officials in Burlington and many visitors say that the trees are now fully bloomed at two popular spots, giving everyone a short time to see the flowers at their finest.

According to the Royal Botanical Gardens (680 Plains Road West), the cherry trees are currently at their peak bloom.

These blossoms attract many people each year, and large crowds gathered over the weekend to enjoy the beautiful displays of pink and white.

Since 2020, 34 new cherry trees have been added to their impressive collection, which can be found in both the Arboretum and the Rock Garden.

Another great place to see them is Spencer Smith Park, right along the lakefront in downtown Burlington.

“They are out, and they look great,” said one visitor who was at the park on Saturday (April 26).

Visitors should remember to handle the trees gently. Don’t break off blossoms, shake branches, or climb on them since any damage can affect future growth.

At the Royal Botanical Gardens, flying drones is not allowed.
