A transport truck got stuck in a hairpin turn, leading to a road closure in Caledon on Friday.

Officers were called to Forks of The Credit Road for an eastbound commercial vehicle that couldn’t make it around a tight curve on the scenic road on July 24, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

The truck and trailer became trapped against the guide rail, resulting in a lengthy closure for removal, the OPP stated.

This area is marked as a no-heavy-truck route.

Police mentioned that Forks of The Credit Road was shut down for over two hours to safely remove the truck and trailer.

A 65-year-old driver from Mississauga faced charges for disobeying a sign and causing traffic disruption. Authorities did not disclose the driver’s name.

Caledon OPP reminds commercial drivers that many route restrictions exist to ensure their safety, as well as that of their trucks and roads.

“If the GPS says yes, but the sign says no – trust the sign,” the OPP advised.
