Man Charged in Home Invasion After Jail Conspiracy

A man who allegedly plotted to kill a jail manager in Ontario, linked to the police corruption investigation called Project South, has been charged in an armed home invasion that occurred in 2025 near Huntsville, Ont., according to police reports.

The Ontario Provincial Police announced they arrested Median Jackson, 32, from Brampton, Ont., for his role in the Hillside home invasion that took place early on July 1, 2025.

Earlier this month, Jackson faced charges related to an investigation by York Regional Police that resulted in seven current and one retired Toronto police officers being charged.

York police mentioned that an additional 19 suspects were also charged, with Jackson being among them.

Court documents indicate that Jackson conspired to kill a jail manager between May 1 and June 30 of 2025. He is also accused of firing shots at a restaurant in Woodbridge on June 14, 2025.

This week, he was identified as the eighth suspect involved in the home invasion incident. The OPP confirmed his arrest took place on Tuesday.

‘Separate and distinct investigations’: police

In an email sent out on Friday, OPP Sgt. Joe Brisebois stated: “I can confirm that it is the same accused. They are two distinct and separate investigations. The OPP investigation is ongoing.”

Police reported they received information about the home invasion occurring in Hillside around Canada Day last year shortly before 5 a. m.

At that time, OPP said their investigation extended beyond just the immediate area which led to closing Highway 11 in both directions between Severn River Road and Coopers Falls Road as well as between Canning Road and Graham Road. The highway was reopened later on.

Shortly after the incident, six individuals were arrested and charged while another person was taken into custody and charged back in December.

Jackson faces multiple charges including three counts of robbery using a firearm; kidnapping while using a firearm – confine; two counts of forcible confinement; assault with a weapon; pointing a firearm; using a firearm during an offense; possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes; theft of a motor vehicle; and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense.

The accused remains detained as he awaits his bail hearing.

Investigators believe there may be other suspects still at large who could be armed and dangerous.

The OPP urges anyone who notices suspicious activity to report it immediately to law enforcement.
