Peel Regional Police (PRP) are looking into multiple reports of gunfire that were heard in a Brampton neighborhood shortly after midnight.
Officers responded around 12:34 a. m. on Friday to the vicinity of Hurontario Street and Gillingham Drive, close to Bovaird Drive West, where they found several shell casings outside a residential section of the area. According to police, the shooting seems to be an isolated event, and there have been no reports of injuries.
Police informed City News that the suspects may have escaped in a vehicle, although this detail hasn’t been confirmed yet. No descriptions of any suspects have been provided.
The officers spent the early morning hours searching for surveillance footage and talking with local residents. Authorities mentioned that people were at home during the shooting, but there’s no indication that anyone inside nearby houses was targeted.
Peel police stated there’s no ongoing threat to the public; however, the investigation is still active.
