Boxing enthusiasts can catch Ontario’s top boxers facing off at the Golden Gloves Provincials Championships happening this week in Brampton.
This four-day event will showcase live Olympic-style boxing, with elite athletes from all over Ontario vying for a chance to move on to the national level.
The championships will include two rings and six sessions of competition across four days. With numerous fight cards scheduled from Thursday to Sunday, Boxing Ontario indicates that this event could serve as a launching pad for future Canadian Olympic competitors.
“With athletes, coaches, officials, families, and boxing clubs coming together from across the province, this event promises four days of exciting competition and community engagement,” says Boxing Ontario regarding the Golden Gloves Provincials Championships.
Local Coun. Rod Power serves as president of Boxing Ontario, and he mentions that hosting the event in Brampton is “an opportunity to celebrate local pride, support amateur sport, and introduce new audiences to Olympic-style boxing.”
“Boxing has an incredible ability to bring people together,” Power states in a release. “Behind every athlete who steps into that ring are years of training, sacrifice, discipline and determination. For some, this championship will be the biggest competition of their career so far. For others, it could be the beginning of a journey to nationals and beyond.”
The 2026 Boxing Ontario Golden Gloves Provincials Championships will take place from Thursday to Sunday at the Brampton Memorial Arena located at 69 Elliott Street. Tickets are priced at $20 per session or $75 for an all-access pass.
