A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 11 north of Orillia when one vehicle was traveling the wrong way.
The Ontario Provincial Police reported that they were called around 4 a. m. Saturday about a driver going the wrong way. This involved a collision between a pickup truck and an SUV on Highway 11 northbound, near South Sparrow Lake Road/Goldstein Road, in Severn Township.
One driver was declared dead at the scene. The other individual was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Authorities have stated that they will not release the name of the deceased until next of kin have been informed.
Highway 11 was shut down in both directions for several hours as police conducted their investigation; however, it has now reopened.
