Barrie Police report that a 61-year-old woman from Barrie was found dead in the water at Tyndale Park in the southern part of the city after being reported missing earlier that same day.
Authorities say officers arrived at the park around 2:30 Thursday afternoon.
Children who were attending a day camp at the beach were safely escorted to Dock Road, where their parents were contacted to pick them up.
Investigators have stated that there are no signs of foul play regarding the woman’s death.
To respect the family’s privacy, police will not share any additional details.
