A detailed investigation has resulted in serious charges against a Barrie man and woman related to the death of a 4-month-old baby in Innisfil.

A 31-year-old man from Barrie is charged with manslaughter concerning the baby’s death in November 2024.

The individual, Anthony Fasullo, has been granted bail after a surety posted $6,000 for his release.

A 26-year-old woman from Barrie faces charges for failing to provide basic necessities of life tied to the same case.

Both individuals were arrested this week following an extensive investigation.

According to South Simcoe police, they received a call regarding medical assistance needed at a residence on Algonquin Avenue on November 8, 2024.

Upon their arrival, officers reported finding the four-month-old baby without vital signs. The infant was taken to RVH in Barrie before being transferred to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.

Authorities indicated that the baby passed away in the hospital on November 10, 2024 due to injuries sustained on November 8, 2024.

During the inquiry, investigators collected enough evidence suggesting multiple criminal offenses took place. Collaborating with various units within the police department, they executed several warrants at a residence in Barrie this past Wednesday.

The accused remained detained pending a bail hearing.

Fasullo is subject to specific conditions including curfew restrictions and cannot possess weapons or be left alone with children or take care of them.

The charges against both individuals are still unproven in court.
