Huronia West OPP is looking into a carjacking that took place in Springwater on Wednesday night and is asking for any witnesses or surveillance footage.
According to police, officers were called to the scene of the incident on the Highway 400 off-ramp leading to Simcoe County Road 93 shortly after 7:30 p. m.
The suspects reportedly forced the victim to stop on the off-ramp, removed him from his vehicle, and then drove away with it. A firearm was allegedly seen during the incident, but thankfully no injuries were reported.
Investigators have found that three male suspects arrived in a black sedan; two of them are described as having South Asian features while the third had a darker complexion.
The stolen vehicle is identified as a 2023 Red Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 with Ontario licence plate CFPC805. If anyone sees this vehicle, police urge them to call 911 immediately and not to approach it.
The investigation is still active. Anyone who was nearby at the time or has information about this event is encouraged to reach out to the police.
