It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Shani’s passing. She left us too soon at the age of 56 after a brave and quick battle with cancer. Shani was a bright light – funny, smart, strong, and giving. Those who knew her experienced a unique charm that made a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Shani’s family was everything to her. She was the loving wife of Bradley and fiercely proud mother to Aiden and Kenzie. Being a mom was her greatest joy, and she embraced this role with love, honor, dedication, and pride. Her loyal companion Frankie will also miss her dearly.
Shani shared deep connections with her mother Roslyn Trotter (Ivan Trotter), her father Stanley Helpert (deceased), and her two older sisters Kelli (Darren Wagman) and Stacey (Joey Milstone). As an auntie to Ari, Leah, Owen, Emmett, and Marlo, she was always their biggest supporter.
Shani’s love reached far into her circle of friends as well. She was a steadfast friend who cultivated meaningful relationships that were important to her. Her home welcomed all who entered it-a place filled with laughter, fun times, delicious meals, engaging conversations, and cherished memories.
Throughout her journey in life, Shani showed incredible determination and resilience. She had a strong mindset that helped her achieve both personal and professional goals. When she faced cancer head-on, she approached it with the same commitment and courage.
We love you so much, Shani; we don’t have to wish for it – your memory will forever be a blessing for all of us lucky enough to know you.
A graveside service open to everyone will take place at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens in the B’nai Shalom V’Tikvah Garden Section located at 1757 Church St N., Ajax, Ontario on Monday, June 15 at 1:30 pm. For those unable to attend in person, there will be a livestream available. A Shiva and Celebration of Life will follow at Shani’s family home at 7 Richard Butler Drive in Ashburn (Whitby) until 5:00 pm then again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday evening. The Shiva will continue the next day on Tuesday, June 16 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm as well as from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

In honor of Shani’s memory and instead of sending flowers, please consider making a donation to Lung Cancer Canada or Nan KIND.

Friends are invited to share their condolences by visiting www. lowandlow. ca
