In a major operation, Halton Regional Police have taken down two large auto-theft rings that were active in Oakville, targeting places like hotel parking lots. More than 100 vehicles were involved in these incidents, with thefts reported throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). The investigations, referred to as Project Disconnect and Project Joker, resulted in the arrest of two suspects on May 27 at a hotel parking lot in Oakville. This effort shows how organized these crimes are and their effect on community safety.
