Elimination Draw tickets are $100 each and Fish Fry tickets can be purchased at the door for $30 each.
TILLSONBURG – The Tillsonburg Shrine Club is gearing up for its third annual Fish Fry and Elimination Draw.
It’s happening at Lion’s Auditorium on Friday, with doors opening at 5:00 p. m.
All funds raised will go to support Shriners Hospitals. For a long time, Montreal was home to the only Shriners Hospital in Canada, but Tillsonburg Shrine Club Secretary and Event Chairperson Cedric Tomico says that has changed.
“We do have a clinic that is being operated right here at the London Health Sciences Centre. So all of the money will be donated to Shrine Hospitals but earmarked towards the clinic that is being run at the London Health Sciences Centre and the costs that surround it.”
Tickets for an all-you-can-eat fish dinner will be $30 at the door. It includes deep fried pickerel, crispy fries, homemade tartar sauce, coleslaw, and garlic bread, plus there will be a take-out option available. Alcohol will also be served, so this event is for those aged 19 and over.
Tomico explains how the elimination draw works.
“We have 400 tickets only that we sell. Each ticket is $100, so we bring in $40,000 and we give half of it back. Basically we start drawing names and the last name picked wins $20,000.”
The elimination draw tickets need to be bought in advance; you can message the Tillsonburg Shrine Club on their Facebook page for more details.
Tomico mentions this has been a fantastic event over the years and he’s eager to see many happy faces on Friday.
“We just hope we get a great turnout, feed a lot of people in the process, make a lot of people happy and raise a lot of money for the children.”
