Provincial police have arrested a 40-year-old man over alleged death threats aimed at a member of Doug Ford’s government.
The investigation began on July 8 after threats were reported against MPP Todd Mc Carthy, who serves as the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
Erik Adler from Burlington faces two counts of making threats to cause death.
According to the police, he has been released on bail and is set to appear in court again on August 11.
No additional details about the specific threats have been shared.
This marks the second arrest in just three days related to threats made against an elected official.
On Tuesday, authorities in Peel Region detained a 29-year-old man for allegedly threatening Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown back in June.
