Markham is all set for an action-packed weekend filled with racing, music, and festival fun as the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy makes its debut on a brand new 12-turn, 3.52-kilometre temporary street circuit. This year marks the first time Indy Car’s second-oldest street race has been held in Markham after nearly 40 years at Exhibition Place in Toronto.

In 2025, this event brought in over $85 million for Ontario’s economy and attracted more than 160,000 visitors. This year, there will be five racing series competing in eight races, along with live music and Free Fan Friday.

Race weekend closures: Full road closures will begin on Aug.12 at 9 p. m., lasting until Aug.18 at 6 a. m., affecting various streets around the Markham Indy circuit including Main St., Unionville Gate, South Unionville Ave., Enterprise Blvd., University Blvd., YMCA Blvd., Kennedy Rd south of Highway 7 as well as Highway 407 interchange ramps. Earlier closures: Bill Crothers Blvd access via Enterprise Blvd is closed until Aug.18. Extended closures: Enterprise Blvd between Andre De Grasse St. and Main St. Unionville along with University Blvd are expected to stay closed until about Aug.21 at around 6 a. m. Local access : Some sections of Kennedy Rd., Main St. Unionville , and Helen Ave. will still be open for local traffic only.

What to expect:
Five racing series: The NTT INDYCAR SERIES headlines Sunday while the NASCAR Canada Series races Saturday. USF Pro 2000 and USF2000 will each have double-headers, joined by the Emzone Radical Cup Canada. Together, these five series will feature eight races throughout the festival weekend. The Glorious Sons live: The award-winning Canadian rock band performs Saturday in 407 ETR Thunder Alley shortly after the NASCAR Canada Series race around 6:20 p. m. The group has been hailed as “Canada’s Best Export” by the Washington Times and is included with both Saturday and two-day admission. Ride the Track: Cyclists are invited to take over the closed Markham Indy circuit on Friday, Aug. 14 from 5 to 8:30 p. m. Ride the Track 2026 welcomes families and riders of all levels to enjoy biking on the course starting from the Markham Pan Am Centre while supporting The Children’s Breakfast Clubs. Family Fun: Besides racing action, the Honda Indy will offer food vendors, Thunder Alley attractions, a family-friendly Speed Zone and an air-conditioned cool-down area inside the Pan Am Centre. Unionville will also participate with displays of exotic cars and toy cars alongside an “Indie” games exhibition and a four-wheel slot car tournament.Tickets, views and Friday access:
Friday admission is free with a voluntary donation to Make-A-Wish Canada. Fans can choose different viewing areas while grandstands provide great views of Pit Lane, Turn 3, Remington Turn 5 and Turn 8. General admission prices are $90 for two days, $75 for Sunday only and $50 for Saturday only. Kids aged 12 or under get free general admission when accompanied by a ticketed adult; however grandstand and paddock tickets are additional costs.Road Closures:
