Peel Regional Police reported on Sunday that a man has died after a canoe overturned in Heart Lake Conservation Area in Brampton, Ont., late Saturday night.
Police received the call about boaters in trouble around 9:30 p. m. on April 11.
Brampton Fire Department teams arrived quickly and began a search and rescue operation. They located a woman in the water, who had been in the capsized canoe. However, they did not find the man she was with right away.
