The Ontario Provincial Police have taken a Lanark County resident into custody following an investigation into child sexual exploitation.
A search warrant was carried out at a home in Perth on May 13, according to a news release.
During the operation, members of the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU), along with the Lanark County OPP and the OPP Digital Forensics Unit, confiscated several electronic devices.
As a result of this investigation, 42-year-old Brendan Kelly from Perth has been arrested and faces charges for:
Two counts of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, section 163.1(4); Make available child sexual abuse and exploitation material, section 163.1(3).
The accused was released after a bail hearing and is expected to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on June 15.
