One person has lost their life, and authorities are urging witnesses to step forward after a serious accident involving a dump truck and a passenger car north of Brampton.
The collision occurred around 6 a. m. on Friday when the dump truck and a sedan collided at the intersection of King Street and Dixie Road in Caledon, according to the OPP.
Authorities reported that the 61-year-old driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while the dump truck driver emerged unscathed from the incident. The victim’s name has not been released yet.

Police shut down the intersection of King Street and Dixie Road for several hours as members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement Team investigated, but it has since reopened to traffic.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward.
