A pharmacy manager in Whitby has been charged following allegations of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old male employee.
According to Durham Regional Police, they began their investigation on August 11 after receiving a report from the teenager who worked at a pharmacy near Taunton Road East and Garden Street.
Police allege that the victim was touched inappropriately on multiple occasions.
Officers reported that they arrested the suspect on Wednesday without any issues.
Sampath Perera, 62, from Markham is facing charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation. These charges have yet to be proven in court.
Durham police expressed concerns that there may be additional victims.
